I just realized this evening, after picking up the mooring in the dark, that in just 3 short weeks the days will start getting longer again. I always dreaded the short days of a long winter but this one seems to have gone so quick. How is that? Of course it's true, I also remember those barefoot summers that would also last forever. I appreciate that the short evenings will so quickly be getting longer, but I'm not so sure I like what that may imply. Perhaps I can claim it is only the lengthening of daylight savings time (here in the States) that makes it appear that the winter is shorter. I think this may be the first time I have been willing to hang onto the short days, and not push time so fast. Never the less, the countdown has begun ;-)
