I have a small 250 & 300 peak amp jump packs that dont jump the battery on C-30 with a Universal 25. Anyone have a suggestion on a good jump pack or peak amp I should be looking for. Universal M25 engine is on use with a 24 & 27 group battery. Even tried the 250 on the 24 and 300 on the 27 and nothing or is it because the batteries are gone??:(

How about a seperate starting battery

It would not take up any more room than the jump pack and it could pack a whole lot more punch. I hooked up my two 4D batteries in parrallel and put them on battery B on the selector switch. That left battery A open for an Optima AGM starting battery. This type of battery can be mounted in any position with out the need for a battery box because it will not leak even if you were to drill a hole in it. A starting battery puts out a lot more cold cranking amps than a deep cycle multi-purpose battery. You do not want to forget to switch over to house batteries though because a starting battery is not a deep cycle. When I had some electrical upgrades done recently I asked the electrician to isolate my starting battery to make it idiot-resistant. Now I do not have to remember to swith over the batteries.

Shorted battery

The problem is might not be your jump pack but you existing battery. If your current battery has a short or dead cell, it is keeping the amps of you jump pack from getting to the starter. Try disconnecting the battery all together and see if either pack "pack the punch". I also ditto the #2 battery.
