JRC 1500 Mark 2 Radar System

I have an option to buy a JRC 1500 Mark 2 Radar system. It is new in the box and has been stored in a heated garage for 6 years. What was the cost of this unit when new? Would $800 be a good price to pay for this?
Any issues with this model I should know about before purchasing?
Has anyone installed on a Hunter Arch vs a Radar Post on Transom?

A monochrome radar display is rapidly becoming obsolete. E-bay is loaded with that kind of stuff. Those units sold for around $1,200-1,400 ten years ago. With today's technology, $800....no way. You can find a Practical Sailor review of this model with a simple google search. Small boat electronics have come a long way in the past ten years.

If it were me, I would look for some of the MFD/Radar packages by Garmin, Simrad, Raymarine etc... they are always on sale somewhere. Here's one I found for $1,839. I've seen others for even less.
