Well my 18 month journey is slowly coming to an end in my quest to find and then refurbish a sailboat. The following is a list of what I accomplished if any one needs advice for what it's worth although I still have alot to learn: -sanded and all existing top-side teak and urethaned -corrected a gouge at top of bow that meets deck -cleaned corrosion on electrical connections and board -cleaned inside cabin with bleach -double clamped all hoses -replaced ignition switch -buffed all stainless steel topside -replaced tiller with custom made arm on this site -replaced missing hand rails from teak in Phuket Thailand -replaced missing cabinet doors in galley via Don Petrie Phuket Thailand -replaced formica tops with new stone looking formica tops on foldout table and galley -formica'd walls in galley -replaced battery -replace hulliner with indoor/outdoor carpet -straightened bent pulpit -sanded complete hull and removed old strips -fixed delamination on two spots on hull, ground it out and layered with two layers of cloth and glass -fixed space between keel and hull, cranked it up, squeezed in 5200 and marinetexed and glassed -applied two coats of anti-fouling -painted a white stipe between anti-fouling and hull sides -painted hull dark blue -painted top-side with anti-slip white paint previously ugly light blue/gray -renamed the boat, previous name was "Strange", I did't fancy that name -currently I am in the midst of adding cushions and cabin steps Wish me luck that it floats!!

WHat kind of Boat?

I am at the begining of this list, although not as extensive. I need to repair some of the compression damage to the aft port side hull and paint the hull dark blue and repaint the non-skid. What kind of paint did you use and how did you go about it? Hope to hear from you soon! Andre (pictures?)

Paint

I used Interlux, don't use it!!! It sags like you read about. If you have the inclination, spray gel-coat on your hull, you'll get an orange peel like texture, then you need to sand for gloss. I didn't go that root as I don't have the facilities for it.

hull liner

Please tell us how difficult it was to replace the hull liner and whether or not you are satisfied. When the snow melts, project #1 on my "new to us" H23 is attacking cabin mold and mildew and the hull liner is a prime target.

Hulliner

Buy soft boat carpet at Lowes, they have a marine backing (rubber) in either tan, grey or black. Use contact cement. But get rid of mildew with bleach. Good luck, Mark
