Yup went to 5/32 forestay and yes 600# is just short of 20%. I have also reset the mast compression post so it no longer pumps. Keeping the original shroud to mast attachment points allows me to better bend the mast using the back stay when the wind picks up.

I would be interested in a little more detail on what you did with this.

A Johnson Lever is on my bucket list but it hasn't made the short list yet. Other P-I-A's rank higher for the moment.

I think I will have to make a new forestay though. Right now I have a turnbuckle that he threaded part is swaged, unless there is a short adapter

When I took a look at the mast compression post without the mat stepped it was a sloppy fit. I removed it measured the gap between the centerboard trunk and cabin top and found it to be ½ “ longer than the post. Long story short I lengthened it and used 5200 to bed it in place. I did this the fist season of ownership. The boat had been stored for 10 years and it looks like the original bedding had degraded or was not applied correctly from the factory. I replace all the rigging and changed the forestay to 5/32 same as the side stays.

Hope this helps
Erik
