You'll have to phone Jim to let him know because he hardly ever checks
his e-mail.

Is Wren formerly out of Portland, Oregon? If so, she was apparently formerly owned by a friend of mine, Gene, who lived aboard at the Tomahawk Island Marina while he worked at Reed College.

One day I noticed that the boat was missing from the marina and I never did find out what happened to her.

Just curious and wish the new owner fairwinds with a nice boat. Glad to see her out cruising.

Jim and Gloria have owned Wren for several years. They live in Ashland
Oregon and trailer Wren to the PNW Rendezvous every year. Jim took a
break from work a couple of years ago and sailed the Sea of Cortez and
then spent the summer in the PNW...

Jim did buy Wren from a guy named Gene in the late 1990's. He lived aboard Wren at Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island in the Puget Sound area. Don't know if he's the same one that taught at Reed.

You're probably right. I remember someone saying that Gene had moved up to the Seattle area after retiring from Reed College.

In any case, Wren had her combi and Volvo replaced by a Yanmar at Cascade Yachts before Gene took her north and he was very pleased with the result.

I hope that Jim is enjoying the cruise. Wish I could be there too. It's currently 35 degrees and raining here in Virginia.

Jim,

That's a nice finish to my question. I wish you all the best with her. I only got to ride her when Gene and a couple of us went out for the Opening Day parade of yachts on the Columbia River one year before he left for Seattle.

Seems like she's in good hands.

Fair Winds!
