I recently purchased a C-30 TRBS which included both a 150% Genoa and a working jib. The previous owner said that he never used the jib, but the owner before him had used it on the roller furling unit. The problem, as he described it, is that the jib is too short to for the roller furler, and if you connect it at the tack, the head is too far down the furling unit and wraps the halyard when you roller furl the sail. He said he never bothered figuring this out, but suggested some sort of extension at the tack which would allow the head to raise all the way to the top of the furling unit. I was thinking of a turnbuckle and shackles, or possibly just a length of double-braid.I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and would have any suggestions for using this sail so as to allow it to be roller furled. Thanks.
