I have a Pearson 303 1985, it has lewmar selftailing #40 jib sheet winches. I need to replace my jib sheets, We have a 110% jib. What diameter jib sheets should we get. I belive we currently have 7/16.

NE Ropes has a handy chart. I replaced with 1/2" Sta-Set on my 85 Pearson 34 which is perhaps a little overkill for strength. Does fit the #43 winch self tailers. A major consideration is the hand. You could probably get some super high tech 1/4" line that is strong enough but you would not want to try to grab it. Relative to the hand, you probably don't want less than 3/8" and the 7/16" is probably good. Did I use "probably" enough?
