Has anyone put cam cleats on their 23.5 for the jibs sheets. If so, where did you place them and what make and model did you use.

We had a long discussion on this almost exactly a year ago. I put Spinlock PX cleats on mine and they work great. I think that this is by far the best solution. There are also some pictures of my installation in the Photo Forum.

I did on a 240

I did on my 240. However, I also used cam cleat risors (about 1") and mounted a fairlead about 3 inches before it. This was necessary as the jibs fixed sheet block keeps the sheet off the deck about 1.5". Works perfectly. I beleive I used Harken cams.

Cam Cleats - H23

I put on a set last year because I sail single handed half of the time. The M&E rep gave me 20 reasons why not to use on a jib sheet, but I've seen too many others thathave used it. I simply removed the old cleats and placed them there. I did move them inboard an inch or so to be sure that I the best angle in the sheet as possible. In retriospect, it was a great move. Gary
