After having sailed the stuffins out of a new (whew) 23, I have the following question: Is there a system out there that will allow me to heep the hank on Jib/Genny and reef/furl it as required? I guess this is a two parter: 1, Whats the diff between a "Roller Reefing System" and a "Roller Furler" (Harken has their "Small Boat Reefing System" and CDI their FF2, Whats the diff? I note that the Harken System has no foil, how does it woek then?). 2, I am installing a "Pull Down" for the foresail via bullets, blocks, et al that runs back to the cockpit, this will allow me to bring down the foresail w/o having to clamber around the deck when single-handing, any body done this? Pros or Cons?

furling/reefing

I'm a newbie too, to the furling/reefing thing. I found a furling rig in the boat I just purchased. There is a diffrence between the two systems. You'll have to search around the net a bit. I went to google and did a search on roller furling, sail reefing, that sort of thing. In about a 1/2 hour I found quite a bit of information. Generally speaking, if there is no foil, it's just for furling, not reefing. There apear to be some sail modifications required to make the reefing thing work well, so the expense may go beyond simply purchaseing the reefing style rig. I'm still learning about them.
