I have a question about the lines from the jib. They seem to rub against the halyards. I would assume that there is a better method. One which would be of less wear and tear on the jib lines and the halyards. I've tried to research and look at photos but am unable to find this information. Thank you for your help!

jib lines?

brother, do you mean your jib sheets, I assume? can you provide a picture of yours, I can't seem to picture how a halyard crosses your jib sheet. Perhaps your halyard is stowed on your standing rigging and needs to be relocated? And which halyard? I know some of the catalinas have jib sheets running outside the lifelines and others running inside the lifelines (like mine) which are creating unnecessary wear and tear on my jib sheet but that is something ive accepted and will replace as required.

Evening Doug, What I am thinking is that you are talking about your jib halyard.Maybe the owner before you changed his rigging and crossed some lines, meaning the main and the jib.If thats what you mean then you need to release your main halyard from the main sail, tie a messenger to the main halyard (another line)run it up until you see the twist in the lines and untwist from the deck. If thats the case. good luck.
