I have recently purchased a 1985 Catalina 30. She came rigged and I am no trying to figure out how the Jib is hoisted into the roller furling. I can account for all three halyards but none of them a attached to the top of the jib. How is it Hoisted? I know that it works on some sort of car device but not exactly sure. Basiclly how does the sail get to the top of the mast?

Hoisting the jib

Unles it is a CDI Furler (see their website for directions), then hoisting should be pretty easy. You attach the halyard to the Part of the furler that slides up and down. You then attach the head of the sail to the bottom portion of that piece. You lead the sail into the groove on the track, and raise the sail. Once the sail is most of the way up you can then attach the tack of the sail to the base of the furler. Be sure the furler drum is full of the furling line before starting the process. I have a Schaeffer system, however I believe most work the same way, except for CDI.

Not sure what brand of furler it is. I beleive it is what was standard on the boat in 85. It doesn't work on a drun system there is one line that spins the stay. What i don't indersand is that there is no halyard attached to the top of the sail.

Probably a Hood SeaFurl

and you do what the previous poster said. Hook the genoa halyard to the top bearing (a rigger who I know called it the Whiz-Bang), attach the head of the sail to the bottom of that bearing. Attach the tack to the drum, and hoist the sail with the luff tape being fed into the groove in the headstay extrusion (It takes two to do this). If the headstay extrusion is a fairly wide, but thin, flat piece of plastic, you have a CDI furler. If you have a CDI furler, it has it's own integral halyard and you don't use the normal genoa halyards that are atached to the mast.
