jib halyard and main

Anyone rig their jib halyard back to the cockpit with a block? And where attached midship?Anyone have a good source for a new main sail/Thanks,Skip

I like the idea

and asked the same question for the 23 a little while ago. There are a lot of responses, including pictures, in the archives here. I also spoke with the O'Day ubermensch Rudy on the subject. He recommended a stand up block at the base of the mast, leading to a turning block on the side of the cabin, led back to a cleat on the side of the cabin near the cockpit. I was only considering leading the main halyard back, as my plans include roller furling. If you do this work, please let us know how it comes out.

Skip -Mike's got is basically right - but you're going to need a downhaul too. Its a good idea to stay off the deck but you defeat the purpose if you don't have the ability to douse the sail from the cockpit too.As for a new mainsail - you're at a pretty good source right here. Have it on mine

I bought my 23 and it was rigged for the halyards to come back to the cockpit. They are mounted at the base of the mast on the right side and have cam cleats near the aft of the cabin top. Although my main halyard is too shart for this rigging it is very handy for raising the genoa. As Justin said I do need a downhaul as well. Hope this helps some
