Do you have a traveller system for your fairleads or do you clip a block to the toerail?

Block on toerail

I have simple blocks on slotted toerail. I have seen someone who has posted on this board however that has a traveler track system on thier 22. I've seem to have found a good all around spot to keep mine in one place and not have to move them at all. With a 110 genoa I have my blocks at the first toe slot aft of the rear stantion.

Block on toerails

I also use blocks on the toerails. I have been experimenting with different positions. I plan to try Mark's location next.

labels

The previous owners of my boat put numbered labels next to some of the slots on the toerail. I assume they were for the fairlead blocks. Numbers 1-4 are forward of the cockpit, 5-7 are along side it with 7 being just past the winch. I haven't experimented with them too much, but I hope to get some time to play with them this season. One problem I've noticed though, it is impossible to change the angle of the sheet for the tack you're on. From the pictures I've seen of some boats, it seems that the place for a traveller is along side the cabin. Does the track being farther inboard compensate for it being so far forward?
