Jib conversionfor cdi ff2

Hi,
Anybody know a good place to mail the jib to put the luff tape for cdi ff2 furler?

I'm pretty sure there are local sailmakers in Chicago, right? We have a local loft that does repairs only. Try to find one, it's only knockin' off the hanks and adding a luff tape. You'll need to know the size of the luff tape, most are #6, but those are for larger boats. Do you know the size? The $$ you save on mailing could be applied to a local guy, encourage the local economy and give you a direct contact if anything needs to be adjusted, and a great resource for future work. I've had our local guy do bunches of work to keep my two jibs working well past their anticipated useful life.

Does your existing jib have a wire luff?

Thanks, but I can't really find anybody to do it locally, I called the few marinas and been referred to upholstery place.

I have received excellent service from Atlantic Sail Traders many times. They are currently converting a hank on jib to roller furling for me. They are in Sarasota Florida, but I am sure you could send your sail and then talk on the phone. They are a small 3 or 4 man shop that listens. their web site is http://www.usedsails.com/. I did a quick search and found at least 4 sailmakers in Chicago:
UK Halsey, Doyle, North and Quantum.
There's probably more.
A CDI FF2 needs a #6 luff tape.

North Sails on Elston Ave just north of North Ave. This is their busy season so you may have to carry your sail in. Talk to Luke.
