Here is the arangement that i use to attach my jib sheets to the jib, I got this idea from some sailing experts at the marina where I used to keep my boat. It has worked very good for me, much better than the snapshackle that I uset for the first couple years. My clew eye is not big enough to hook my whisker pole onto and the small loop created by the bowline is ideal for this purpose.
Of course, this has one of the same problems using a cow hitch in a single line for both sheets does... you have to re-reeve the line after changing headsails, since you need to pull each sheet all the way through the eye splice. If you change headsails with any regularity, that gets old fast—especially compared to using a good bowline.
