Have you considered building a replacement rudder? I would be happpy to provide pic's and measurements from my mid 70's Javelin if you would like. Regarding the head sail, don't limit your search to a Javelin replacement. As long as the leading edge is not too long you might be able to find a perfectly functional sail. Find the measurements of an original and then check that against One design racers perhaps in your area. You may be able to find a good used sail from a class racer who is upgrading. May I ask a question about your boat? I am currently reparing my Javelin and cannot determine how the mast step was originally situated. Can you describe yours to me? Where exactly and how is the step mounted? I would tend to believe that it is fasted to the top of the centerboard trunk but I do not know how and with what type of fastener. Thank you, JBB
