jetski engine in a sailboat?

The navy went to generator/electric motor years ago for efficiency purposes. And a sailing boat dragging a prop can recharge batteries using wind.

I like the idea of small lightweight performance boats using a jetski for propulsion. How about a U-shaped cockpit with open transom into which one could drive the jetski then lock it into place. Its hull would blend into the big boat's bottom, it would give a good footrest and seat in the cockpit and when at anchor could be used as a tender. Built in tender and auxiliary engine. Would need a big magneto though for battery charging. Got to have ice cubes and autopilot, not to mention nav lights, anchor light, VHF radio and chartplotter.
