Update for September

How does one start with great news all around. I've just finished my 8th chemo session and received my latest cancer marker number. It is 27, anything between 0 and 35 is considered normal. My dear wife will contest about me being anything normal. Doctor said this great and the chemo is doing what it supposed to do – KILL THE DAMN THING. I have a CTSCAN scheduled for October 7 which will answer the bigger question – Is it still shrinking. Come on October.... I still have four more sessions to endure but I have been tolerating this aggressive chemo very well. Doctor said then I get a 6 month rest from chemo. Some side effects but nothing earth shaking. Hope it stays that way.

Future plans? After the chemo finishes in November, we plan to hop on the boat and head south to the Florida Keys. Up to Ft Myers to harass daughter and family. Would expect to be back home in March or April depending on how cold and snow Virginia gets. I still have blood test to be taken monthly to monitor cancer marker number but can be done anywhere.

Wish to THANK EVERYONE for the great thoughts and prayers.

Jim

You are definitely NOT normal ... you look like a blonde Geraldo! It's so important for people to hear the positive news. Sue and I have been shocked by the news of more than a few friends and family lately who have been going thru similar treatments (a couple of them in their twenties) and the common thread is that positive attitude and support is all important. It makes such a difference when there is much to live for. We went on a ski vacation with my sister and her husband less than a year following his bone marrow transplant for ALL. The chemo and radiation was brutal, but his will to be healthy again is incredibly strong and it makes the difference. Best wishes and good luck to you!

Great news Jim and thanks for this wonderful update.

I remember telling you don't listen to the doctors as far as time is concerned. And also live as normal a life as you can. Glad to see that you did both these things. Attitude is # 1 in helping with the treatments. Great news also that you plan on taking the boat South. Doing what you love is the best therapy. I shall be in Cocoa, FL from early November on so if you need anything when you get anywhere in the area do not hesitate to get in touch. I'll be glad to help & can even provide transportation for whatever errands you need to do.

Love that picture Jim, a sense of humor is a prerequisite in these matters. Best wishes for a full recovery.

Wonderful news, Jim.
Will you be in Annapolis at the show next month? If so, looks us up; we'll be working the HSA-1 booth inside the Marlow-Hunter pavilion.
