Java has a clean bottom

We pulled Java out Oct 4th. Bottom was very clean, had about 30% slime and almost no barnacles. It had been 6 months since she went into the water. I touched up and repainted the bottom, cleaned the shaft and prop. Tomorrow, Joan and I start buffing and waxing the hull. Using Maine Sails methods... wait until she finds out how heavy the buffer gets after a few hours..

For my bottom paint I use a PPG Amercoat ABC 3 and cost $120/gal. see pic.

If things keep going well with the chemo, Joan and I plan to head out of the Potomac River and south by Thanksgiving. We plan to hit the Keys and Ft Myers and return by April.

Wish I could leave earlier but who cares we are headed south... Look out Nick I might need a place to stay if my Daughter kicks me for corrupting the kids..

No Kids

We don't have any kids to corrupt or worry about for sure, sounds good Jim and your bottom looks good too.
We plan to leave around Nov. 4 for our annual trip up to Tarpon Springs with
the Punta Gorda Sailing Club,so far we have about 15 sailboats and maybe 3 power boats going with us and usually we are out for about 3 weeks.
Looking forward to you and Joan and Java coming over to our side of Fl.

Re: Working on the Hull

Jim, I had friends get stopped by the weather on their way to the Keys on late fall. Whose chemo? Nancy's endurance has been severely affected by her chemo.

Oh heck Jim, it sounds like you will not be squat for the boat show. Are you sure little brother you gonna make it or will Joan and I have to prop you up like a stuffed animal.
See you tonight as long as there are no cannons or battleship guns pointed at me. Hardy Har Har.

Jim, boat looks very good. We will probably do our bottom this year so thanks for the tip on the paint. We will be on Floridas east coast, Keys and Bahamas this winter, I hope we can connect along the way. Maybe compare notes on the H356.

Take care, Bob sv Windsong II
