Or maybe it's GOB. But, I used the pictured junction box instead of a pod per Jackdaw's suggestion from another post ("Utter lack of rail mounts").
The junction box is waterproof, the perfect size, is of robust contruction, has thick tabs for rail mounting, and even matches the colors of the electronics. It's almost as if it were designed for the task. I merely cut the hole using the Raymarine pattern, drilled a small hole for the cable, and attached it to the rail using generic West Marine rail mounts.
I even used the box to mount the GPS, and then hung the remote mic on the lower mount.
A pod, lowest price, is $289 plus tax and\or freight. The junction box - $18. I spent more on the West Marine mounts. Total cost for all items - $43.
