Jack Stands

I am looking at purchasing jack stands to lift my Hunter 23.5 off its trailer. So I can prepare the bottom and lower the center board enough to resurface and paint it also. I am thinking motor boat stands would be the proper choice for the 23.5. Any recommendations of brand name and type of boats stands I should purchase ? I also am looking at getting quotes to have the bottom redone with epoxy barrier and a cpc or micron coating on top of that. What should this cost ? I'm thinking to have it done will costs in the 800.00 to 1000.00 area. I wanted to know if I would save enough money to justify doing it myself.

I HAVE JACK STANDS, AND THAY WORK "NICE"THAY WILL ALLOW YOU TO JACK THE BOAT OFF THE TRAILORABOUT 12". FOUR OF US WITH HUNTER 23.5 USE THESE, AND HAVE REDONE OUR BOTTOMS. THE STANDS CAME FROM WEST MARINE.DAVE B.ps. done forget the chains when using them!

Brownell

Brownell (they're on the web) is the company that makes as well as ships them. It's a HELL of a lot cheaper to buy new stands from them than the usual stores. The stands for my H22 (5) with shipping was $350.00.Occasionally someone in the want ads will have a pair or two for 100 bucks.

The jack stands should be connected to eachother with a heavy chain so they can not be accidentally knocked out of position causing you to make an insurance claim.

He's right . The stands must be chained to geather,so thay stay togeather. Other wise, thay spit out fromunder the boar like a bar of soap..>>>>Dave B.
