As I winterized last fall, I noticed that the pump cylinder on my toilet has a horizontal split on the lower horizontal section. A new cylinder is about $50 and since the unit is 10 years old I should probably replace the internal rings and washers etc. A totally new unit is about $140. I am pretty handy and will do the work myself. The question is, am I just better off buying the whole new unit or just replacing the parts I need? Thanks.

Buy a new Raitan PHII. A much better toilet. You may be able to reuse the bowl and just buy the Raritan pump assembly and base.

Or you can purchase the pump assembly without the bowl. That's what I recommend.

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
I second the Raritan PH II. I trashed my Jabsco piece of crap and put the Raritan in there. I do not regret that one bit!
