I'm considering replacing my Jabsco manual toliet with a Raritan manual toliet on my H376. Has anybody done this? I'm concerned the attachment base will require significant modification. Thanks. Bob

Did it on a 37.5
I have a 95 37.5 so I am not sure what might be different.... I needed to redrill the supporting bolts at the base and cut the pump handle down by 2 inches so that the aft door could open and close.... it is a tight fit but it worked and we are happy that we made the change.... hope that helps.

The Jabsco in our 340 was replaced with PH-II. The new head came with a new base and some new holes had to be drilled but otherwise it works.

I did it on a 376
I changed to a ph II. Easy job, just had to rotate the fixture and drill new holes. Also, ask Raritan for a straight waste outlet instead of their right angle one that comes with the toilet. The waste hose fits right into it. Initially, orient the toilet so the waste connection matches up and then drill your holes. Allan

How did the handle fit
Did the throw of the pump handle create any problems since the Jabsco pupmed straight up and down and the Raritan has a horizontal arccomponant to it. Did you keep the handle on the left side as you face the head. Thanks

on our H36. Should have done when we bought the boat! Peggy was right. Put in a Phii It wasn't difficult, added a strainer to the inlet hose. I am still getting used the handle as it sticks out a bit. You won't regret it.

Drilling Holes
You folks mention drilling holes to mount this toliet. Please clarify, am I drilling holes into the boat? Or into the base of the toliet? I assume the toliet is held in place with a bolt & nut. I always get nervous drilling holes in my boat down below the waterline (LOL)!

Usually lag bolts
Bob: Normally the toilet is held in place by lag bolts. If you remove one of the existing ones you will see how it all works. You may get lucky and only need to drill one or two holes, that has happened to me in the past.

In the 376, you drill new holes into the raised area that the toilet sits on and install lag bolts. There is empty space under the raised area so if you drill down about an inch to get thru the raised area you will not get near the hull. Unscrew one of the rear lag bolts that holds the current toilet and you will see the clearence you have. Also, its worth adding a little strainer upstream of the toilet pump. Its simple to do and keeps the inside of the rim of the toilet clear for good water flow and to avoid odors. Allan
