I was having back flow problem in the head. Water would seep back into the bowl after sitting a while. I replaced the joker valve this winter and thought that would take care of it. Not the case. I'm still getting seepage back into the bowl. When you dry pump you can hear it sort of gurgling. The bowl clears and water flows back in. Any Ideas? Paul H S/V Linda Belle 95 H26

Joker valve not supposed to prevent seepage

Are you sure it is backflow and not flush water? If the water is clean, it's coming in via the head intake...the wet/dry valve is leaking. If the water is definitely backflow, could be due to a couple of possibilities: 1. check your tank vent for a blockage--or partial blockage--that's creating backpressure. 2. If your head discharge hose runs uphill, you're not using the dry mode enough...flush long enough in the dry mode to move the waste/water all the way to the tank...no water left in the line, none will run back into the bowl.

Backflow Problems

Went thru the sme problem as you for months. Changed everything including new holding tank, vent lines, and intake and discharge lines. No help.Bought and installed a new Raritan PH11. Best addition to boat I ever made. No more head problems.

Agree with Randy,

I have a Jabsco, and after several years use, don't think much of it. Had the chance to compare it to a Raritan the other day, and the quality difference is very noticable. I'll be changing mine soon.
