I really hate asking you a question about one of my Jabscos, but here goes... one of mine with the new style twist to lock feature has developed the pump hang up on dry flush. Specifically, the dry / wet selector will not stay in the evacuate position unless held. I assume it's the cam. I have a rebuild kit, but am not sure what specifically it is that fails, the cam itself or the valve-gasket. What's your experience?

Since I have the kit I may as well try a repair altho my experience doing any rebuild on this generation of pumps is dismal; they tend to shear off the screw seats regardless of how careful you are.

Yes, I already know I could have gotten two (maybe three) PH ll's for the grand in the eleven years I've invested in this throne. Sigh.

Hope you are doing well and looking forward to summer.

You have more patience than me. I'd just thow away the whole pump and put a new one on. We still use the Jabsco pump, but always keep it in the dry position, using fresh water that we keep in a gallon jug. Got tired of the dead little sea critters in the hoses.

Actually, I just ordered a new one for an excellent price, but I would like to keep it as a spare since I know I will need it. I already have the rebuild kit, but from past experience, I know it isn't always obvious what isn't working.
