I recently bought a 10 ft dinghy and i'm not sure who the mfg is. it is fiberglass. the earliest registration is from 1976. the only identification is on the mast and boom "Kenyon Marine alSpar". upon further investigation, i learned that the mast is a Kenyon B-Section. There is no mastgate, just a hole in the top to slide the mast in. just behind and to the left of the "masthole" is a 3"x4" placard that has faded completely. The sail is triangular, yellow, and has a picture of a top hat printed on it. About midway along both sides of the boat is a hole to attach oars to. along the outside of it is a rubber "sleeve" that covers a seam where the top and bottom pieces of fiberglass were attached with rivets. i am in the middle of restoring it and i would absolutely worship the ground you stand and sit on if you could help me identify this mystery craft. If you needed any help identifying a certain car i would be most obliged to help. Once more i beseech the gods of the sailing world to send me an answer.

PS

if you need any more info to guide you in revealing the hidden identity of the boat, do ask.

its at topper

The give away was the top hat insignia. Check it out and let us know if this is correct. http://www.toppersailboats.com/topper.html

A topper perhaps

i'm not sure if it was a topper. it certainly looks similar to the ones i saw on the site, but those were all new and mine was last registered in 1976 in Illinois. The site says the toppers are remarkably simple, and mine only has one rig: a single halyard for the sail. nothing else. actually the trailer has a rope, but that doesn't count. maybe your guess is correct, or perhaps not, but i thank you anyway.

resto update

EWWWWWW! The most disgusting thing happened. I had to take out a piece of the fiberglass at the stern, and i found it had a wood core. "had". most of it was eaten out from ants. thousands of them. the rest was a fiberous mush. i killed all the ants with carburator cleaning spray. now i need help with what kind of wood i need to replace it with. i could not tell you what kind of wood it was besides "oh the humanity".
