Ivan, How to disconnect the boom joint

Regarding Hun 1984 31'. Well, Ivan is on track for Tampabay. I Lucked out with charley and frances. I took already everything of the deck. This time I would like to store the boom below deck. I just can get the joint disconnected. It seems to be secured with 2 stainles rings. How does this work ? Quick response is appreciated. Thanks Siggi

Here's how

You first have to remove the clips,..pretty easy, then you need to lift the boom from the rear (pretty High) and as soon as it gets hight enough the boom will release as long as you are pulling it towards aft at the same time. KEEP THE CLIPS AND THE PLASTIC ROUND GOLF BALL SIDES as they are HARD TO FIND. I am waiting here for my THIRD Hurricane here in Ponce Inlet too by the way,..GOOD LUCK Fast enough?
