My 1975 Catalina 27's windows have never been re-sealed. I have read the archives and have a good idea of the problems, i.e., use something like 4200 and not 5200 to seal the frame. Questions: Where can one get replacement rubber seals? Do I put silicon between the rubber seal and the glass/frame? Are there any suggestings before I start this task? thanks, bob

hello bob. you didn't mention if the windows are leaking. if they are not then don't try to fix them. your name seems familiar, are you an airplane pilot? john, eaa376, c.c.s.c.

Permatex

Hi. I have a 79 Catalina 25. Suddnely this year the windows started leaking. I used permatex automotive window sealer. It is a flowable silicone. Clean the window tracks out with alcohol, then put a small amount of the stuff on. It runs easily, so use it sparingly. Several small coats may be needed. Use WD-40 for cleanup. It stopped my window leaks without a major repair.

Window frame is pitted and rubber is cracked

Thanks for your response. Only a couple of windows are leaking. One window's Al frame is rotting away. The other window's rubber seal is cracked allowing water to leak inside. Do you know where I can get a replacement window or can I just replace the rubber seal? Nope, not a pilot, just a sailor. bob
