Fred?

Eh? You sold the boat!? WHYYY?! That's a shame man, just got tired of it? Oh, and I've got another question for y'all. When you touch my boat's deck, it leaves a chalky white residue on you... is there any way to get rid of this? is this an issue that I should be concerned with? What could I do to make the deck shiny and pretty instead of chalky and dull? Thanks Again!

Wood care

Euclid, I hate dealing with varnish, so what I did was research some teak care with Google and decided on using this stuff called TeakGuard. http://www.marinestore.com/teak.html?cart=321310275560827 I completely removed the old varnish and cleaned with the included cleaner, then applied six coats of the teak guard. It's not as shiny as varnish, looks like gray water going on, but the finish looks failry robust. It's designed to be touched up each season without a lot of work, so we'll see how it lasts. As for your chalky deck, it's oxidized. I'm sure if you do a search here, you'll find many suggestions for this. Myself, I am going to give the Island Girl products a shot. My topsides are chalky, too, but the deck must be in better shape than yours since I haven't noticed any chalkiness there. If it ever stops raining here, I plan to tackle the cleanup and restoration process. If I get the results I'm expecting, I'll be sure to let everyone know. If I were you, I'd first just use some mild carwash or boat soap with a medium scrub brush to scour the decks and see how that works. Oh, and the back stanchion area is called the pushpit, I believe.

Nice alternative!

Fred, Once I get done spending money on necessaries, I'll look into the SS stuff. Looks very nice! Where'd you locate it?

Do I have to say?????

OK,,,,wm,,,OW,come-on, easy on the flames. They Hurt! But an old friend sold the hardware to me with a brother-in-law discount. Even so the stuff was about $150. But I'd have to look it up. It was one of those two-part purchases.
