Since I brought my '81 H22 home last week the weather has turned south and started raining. After a couple days of it I checked the boat to see how she was doing with the rain and found that there's a decent leak going. My sink was full and the stbd aft settee cushion was soaked. I also got about a gallon of water out of the bilge. I think the leak is from the bottom of my hatch. I put the lower section in and I can see light coming in under it. The piece of wood across the bottom of the hatchway appears to be slightly bowed. Any suggestions on how to correct this problem? I know I should replace the wood, but is there anything else I can do? Thanks! Dustin Patrick

Gosh darn it !!

Had the same problem.Former owners did a quick fix on the problem. They caulked it.I in turn tore it all apart. Then put it back together right.Had to replace one piece of teak though.Guess what.NO leaks now.

which piece

Which piece of teak did you have to replace? I think with mine it will be the bottom piece. The port pieces have been replace already and the stbd need it anyway, but the bottom seems to be the real problem.
