Sea trial and survey was completed yesterday and we did not have any deal killers show up. Just some minor things that I will address over the winter. The boat was a 1 owner and he took very good care of her.

Congratulations! We also have a 2001; hull no. 65. We bought her in December and loved sailing her this season. Almost time to take her out for the winter.

She looks great! Perfect boat for the Chesapeake area. You'll love how easy she is to sail, and how comfortable she is. Happy sailing!

If you can spend some time, I really liked HDG when our boat was up there. MacGregors is good, but I liked the bar/restaurant right across the street even better. Too bad it is so far away from Virginia.

well, I survived my first grounding with the wing keel (previous boat was a fin keel)...... there was an unusual low tide and we got stuck exited the fairway of the marina. Took a little while but was finally able to back it out and got to practice backing down the fairway and into the slip (which I NEED a lot more practice with this boat).

We decided to eat lunch and waited a couple hours for the tide to rise and was finallly able to get out for a short sail.

We practiced working the sails a little (liight winds 5-8 knots or so) cannot wait until next season.

Well you know there are two types of sailors, those who talk about their groundings, and those that lie....(oh and the third type, the ones that never leave the slip) welcome to the "touched bottom club"... and to sailing. Such a "Lifting feeling" when that wing finds bottom and you feel the rise...

You're in the club. Helped a friend bring his brand new 60s something Bristol 39 up from Deltaville a couple of weeks ago and he ran aground on Broad Creek within 100 yards of the brokers boatyard-on a falling tide. The broker came out in a mainship 30 and yanked us off. Interesting that he was on the proper side of the markers but appaently not far enough.

When my daughter first got her drivers license, she called and said she'd just "totaled" her mom's car! (No injuries, thank goodness, just a bad rear ender.) When I said, "That's great!" She said, incredulously, "Why?"

"At least you got it out of the way right up front," I replied. :)
