The holding tank on my Legend 35.5 is not holding. After reading dozens of posts I'm interested in the latest info on tank and hose replacemet. Has anyone one through this recently and would you share your expertice.

I am surprised that there have been no responses

so far. You do not specify exactly how the tank is not holding so I can only ASSume that you have some of the tanks former contents in your bilge. If so one of the first things I would suggest is to get a couple of bottles of KO to spread around in the bilge. Do not use bleach, ammonia or any other strong cleaners, yet. The KO should help to make your cabin a little easier to work in and it employs aerobic bacteria to help break down the s&^t. You might consider allowing the KO some time to do its work. Then drain the bilge. You might want to sacrifice a shop vac for this job depending on how large any solids are. Empty contents into municipal sewage system (toilet). Now it is finally time to drag out the heavy hitting detergents and scrub brush. Since I have not been there and done that this is only my armchair advice. Good luck.

I am not at all astonished by the lack of replies

I am more bewildered by the lack of information given in this post. There is no indication as to the nature of what is not holding that presumably should be holding. Generally tanks don't go bad lacking an external cause. Did you have a shoot out in your boat and the tank catch a stray round? Rats gnaw holes in the tank and hoses?

Aluminum HoldingTank?

Assuming the problem was an aluminum holding tank, there are numerous posts in the Archives, some may be specific to the 35.5. However, check the size and location , the difficulty in removing the existing, match the location of fittings with a polyethelene tank, etc. Then possibly you can get specific answers to specific problems ---some Hunters have a poly tank, some are built into the hull liner and some models had aluminum but the metal tanks are notorious for problems.

Gerry ..here is a source for a new holding

tank. As I remember I think Ronco is the company that Peggy usually recommends.
