has anybody done a conversion to this on their refer system? My refer runs way to much. Wondering if this might help.

With the fridge in the Mac I do what the Isotherm does manually. Turn the box down to 33-34 during the day if the solar has topped off the batteries or feel it will. At night turn it up to low 40's. Will not normally turn on during the night until close to morning. You are using the fridge to store excess solar energy in effect. This only works if you have excess solar energy to work with. Would also work if you have excess due to motoring.

If the fridge is running too much for lack of insulation I'd also try to work on that if at all possible. One place that the fridge can really benefit from insulation is on the bottom as that is where the coldest air in the box is so possibly the biggest difference between inside and outside the box. About the opposite of insulation in a house. I have 7 inches under part of the box and 9 under the rest. The fridge is very efficient and doesn't run much.

I thought about it for the Endeavour but the fridge in it also has...

... a freezer section that also cools the rest of the fridge. Since it has both I can't move the temperature settings around like I do with the fridge only in the Mac. I pretty much have to leave the thermostat setting where it keeps the freezer section frozen and the rest unfrozen. So in this case the Isotherm won't work. Won't work in the Mac as that fridge is a portable.

If I only had a fridge in the Endeavour or a separate freezer then I think I'd for sure get the Isotherm, but you do need to have excess solar to take advantage of it,
