I have a 1993 B400 with an Isomat mast and roller furling main. I'm replacing the mainsail, which appears to be the original Neil Pryde that came on the boat. I've had the boat about 9 months and always have difficulty unfurling the main. No doubt a good part of the problem is that the main has developed a belly in its old age. I've read many posts about rf main issues and potential fixes for Z Spar systems. Has anyone with an Isomat rf mast/main replaced their mainsail?
There's also a lot of info on the internet about changing the furling line, flushing/maintaining bearings, etc., on Z Spar rf system, but not on Isomat. I have spoken with RigRite, but am still looking for answers about how to replace furling line on Isomat mast, and if NP is the way to go on new sail for an Isomat mast. The new NP furling mains have vertical battens, which seems to be geared for Z Spar masts. Has anyone tried vertical battens in an Isomat mast?
