Beneteau First 405 Montreal
New to us Bénéteau first 405 1987 model, shoal keel stepped mast, NG-70 profile, masthead rigged

Two openings (wider than side halyard exit openings, almost square) about 2 feet below mast head on front of mast, off center, It wasn't possible to measure because sailboat is on the hard, too risky to climb up there.

A lot of water has been entering through these holes

What is the purpose of these openings ? optional fractional jib box ?

Neighbour's First 42 has original SS exit plates.

Will be taking the mast down next spring for maintenance and adding Spinnaker (Asym) hardware, replace backstay, mast boot and probably new sheaves.

Is there an Isomat owners manual available for these models ?

Quoted from Sparcraft US web site : "These files contain mast drawings from over 150 boat builders in the Isomat section alone. This is a valuable resource for manufacturing replacement spars."

I have Never been able to access these drawings

Thanks
