In looking at the mounting hardware between the boom and the mast it seems to me that there must be a sleeve bushing or something missing. Can anyone verify what this supposed to look like?

If you had a stainless tube where the outside diameter would fit into the upper and lower holes in the casting and so that the inside diameter would accept the stainless pin, then you would remove the slop, straighten it out and probably eliminate some failure down the line. I believe LeFiell Mast Co provided the spars and spar hardware for Islanders and they are still around out of California.

I ended up opening all holes to 1/2" and dropping a stainless Clevis Pin through it. Might not meet initial design specs but definitely has the boom sitting in the proper position. Thanks for the the input Bill.
