Islander 30 for Cruzin?????

I am contemplating the purchase of an I-30. I like the layout, the construction seems to be okay, and it is simply rigged. I am concerned with the fin keel aspect. I am wanting to cruise to Central America from Texas and livaboard. Anyone done anything similiar...and, if so, what did you and didn't you like about this boat? Thanks! Dan

Not all Islander 30s

are created equal. Mine is full keel attached rudder, cut away forefoot. I have heard fin keel. I don't get obsessive about boat shape but there are differences.
