I am in the St. Pete area of Florida (actually in Spring Hill) for several days and was wondering if there are tours or anything else available to the public at the Island Packet Yacht factory. I have sent them 2 emails asking but so far no response. Maybe someone here knows if it is worth driving to.

I called Bill who promptly returned my call a few months ago and arranged a tour which as I understand it, happens twice a day most days. After having done the Hunter, Catalina and Caliber factory tours, it was very informative and I now know why there is such a $$$ difference. Plan on 3 hours.

I've taken the tour.....it is well worth the time and effort. I would give them a call....Karsten, the owner's son, gave us the tour a few years ago.

I did the tour with friends in '02. There is a reason offshore boats cost more.... anyway, I couldn't buy a new boat but I did pick up a very cool IP cap.
