Has anyone used island Girl Products. My Cabin top on my O'Day 25 is starting to chalk and I want to take care of it. I have see advertisements and at boat shows. But I would like to get some feedback from anyone who has used it.Thank you in advanceEJ TewsJennifer Lea

Excellent Results

E.J., I bought the kit last spring and applied as per directions. I could not believe how bright the white gel coat became, and water beaded over the gelcoat the entire year indicating to me it was still working. I plan on applying the silk-n-seal only this year to bring the brightness back. The only product I have not tried is their pink, which is a general cleaner. I am happy with the results. It did take about 8 hours to apply, so I dedicated an entire day to the restoring.Don

EJ,I just tried the IG system on my O'D 26 with great results. I agree with the first post about it taking about 8-9 hours for the 26 foot boat I have but there is no really strenuous work as their is in buffing with an electric buffer - no flying globs of compound or wax either! I also think the results are far and away better than my previous year's efforts. The sealant for the non skid that came with my "Delux Pack" also did a great job. I would only add that it is important to allow for the last coat of the liquid wax to fully cure - 24 to 48 hours in my case before you expect any rain. There was a downfall about 2 hours after I applied my wax which resulted in a whitish blush where the rain water ran down the side of the hull. The blush was cleaned off with the IG pink substance as recommended in the instructions and I reapplied wax to the affected area - I had no rain for a week after so the wax seems to have fully cured as no more blushing has surfaced in the last month.All in all I am very happy with the system.Good luckGreg Jones
