JohnnyQuest, I heard the Gulport Small Craft Harbor weathered the weather very well. I diid hear that the piers were under water for a while.

I am out of state but a friend moved my boat to the Back Bay near Pops Ferry Bridge...same place it rode out Katrina. I am told all is welll with my boat and I will move it back to GSCH on Monday.

Cheers,
Jim

Moved my boat from discovery bay back to gulfport. All harbors and bridges are open. I seemed to be in the last 1/3rd or so of boats moving back. Seems like most must have moved on Sunday or Monday. I was surprised to count 6 boats in Bayou Portage and Discovery Bay that had floated from their lines/anchors during Issac onto land. Some are going to be a real challenge to get back in the water.

Someday I would like to learn about some of the hurricane holes in the Back bay if anyone wants to share.

Good idea about staggering the masts, Capta. This was my first hurricane and a learning experience. Plenty of help from friends and fellow sailors along the way is preparing me for when a nastier storm blows into town one day.
Thanks again.

Jim,
I checked out GSCH just a couple of days ago so thus may be too late. All looked very good there. Services appeared to be up and the paper reported the harbor to be operational as well. If you haven't returned yet, youll only find debris in the parking lot but not much at that.
Welcome back!
