Most production boats were designed to be sailed in the water near there home. Its a natural process. The designer (often) is there, and it keeps shipping costs down. So shoal draft Hunters in Biscayne Bay. Catalinas designed for the run to Avalon with minimal fuss. Sabre, well that's a Maine boat all the way. While Bene's home is Brittany, most Oceanis models are designed for charter. The Firsts are different; designed for people that sail into storms while racing instead of turning for home.
