Spring Cove Marina is a nice Marina and I have taken slips there numerous times. I also tend to anchor near that area because of the Holiday Inn Dingy Dock.

Congradulations on the new boat. You will enjoy your Catalina 30 (Mine is the same year, Hull number 5800). One of my friends at my dock is hull number 5808).

Good luck and enjoy. You plan on staying in Solomons or moving the boat?

Plan on moving her to Cape May, NJ.. It's going to be a long first sail in a new to me boat.. At least I'll know her by the time we get to home port. :)

First step will be a touch up bottom paint and a hull wax.. At least I have a solid two months to get it done..

I wouldn't attempt the move north until May. April can be some rough going on the Chesapeake. I transported the "Spirit of Liberty" from Deltaville to Colonial Beach in early April and I hit some nasty weather (40knots sustained with huge seas). I had waves breaking on my cabin roof. I actually beat for 5 hours in that crap into the wind under the engine until I got into the Coan River. Smith Point was hell! The winds didn't abate until late the next evening. I was anchored in the Coan River through the night with wind howling through the rigging and ended up with Frost on the deck the next morning.

Good luck with her. What is the Hull number? Just curious about that.
