Hey guys, i'm posting this message to see if its just me, or are other members having this problem? If so, if we find out that others are, we can let the administrators that run the site know. Okay, this happens to me quite frequently: it usually happens when i type a message or sometimes by just going to another page or link. What happens is i'm constantly getting cut off at these times. It reminds me of when we first got a computer and you would go to the chat lines. You'd be chatting then for no reason-bang-cut off and couldn't get back on. well that happens to me here also. And when this does happen, i sometimes can't get back on for about 1 hour> So guys-if this is happening to you also, please leave a reply here stating so, and we can show the administrators that there is a problem that needs addressing-thanks-Kevan

When I initially come to this site I will get a cannot load page and then when I re-click it, the page loads. It happens once in a while.

couple of times a week
when I try to come on board, it won't load. Seems like it's ofetn around 10:00 EST. Could it have anything to do with the people on the left coast coming on line? They usually try to ruin everything for us normal people!

Phil and Dave mentioned that they get a significant spike right around 9:00 when all of us folks have gotten to the office and are finished settling in.

But seems to have stopped in the last few days.
For me it was completely erratic, may log in fine, then have troubles when responding, or going back to the main or just not come up at all. Waiting for a while normally worked so I assume there was a heavy user load.

A word from the administrators of the site
Two things are going on today:
First, and what you experience from time to time, is a fundamental problem with the software that was used to build the site. While we've used it for nine years, it has been abandoned by its owner and has become unstable. This typically causes anywhere from 1 to 5 outages per day, most of them just a few seconds but some lasting for several minutes or longer. We are in the process of completely rebuilding the site in another language and will have an announcement about this in August.
However, _today_ we are under a very fierce attack by spammers who are submitting thousands of posts using an automated submission system. Very few make it to the board but it takes a lot of server overhead to fend them off. Last night it was so intense it brought two of our servers down for a couple hours. We're working on the problem and hope to have it resolved soon.

Spammers are an interesting breed...
They are like a destructive parasite who invades the host and eventually killing the host. In the process, killing its self. Hmmm... So if spammers killed all the computers in the world, they would have nothing to spam anymore. They too would dry up and vanish. Interesting.
