Is there a sensible chartplotter for me?

that gives me an idea. We have an older ASUS tablet, new and still in the box. I wonder if it will support the app...
It's not weatherproof though. I doubt I can still get a case for it

Install OpenCPN on your laptop. Put it in the cabin. You’ll have full functionality of a great navigational chart plotter.
Download the free NOAA charts and you’ll have money left over for something important on the boat.
