It’s the original sail. And yes it’s the hull number. If I ever have to replace the sail it’ll have this on it but in blue.

I was mainly referring to posts here. Telling hull numbers seems customary and I was wondering why it seems important.Back to Kermit's original question: post where? Like in a for sale ad? I believe the last 2 digits of the HIN are year of manufacture, at least for most HIN formats. The earliest may not use this standard. So it would help assure the reader or potential buyer how old it really is.
My 23 ends in 91. I think that may have been about the last year it was built.
