The Hudson River is showing signs of freezing. Some years they need ice breakers to clear the way for commercial traffic, and other years -- it does not freeze at all.

We froze up in places with that quick snap... and people were able to ice fish the shallower places already.... but then we got 4 days over 60 degrees, and it went all swampy again...
I bet another week of below freezing and it'll be solid again...
Probably mid Jan before the ice boats come back!

I sent a friend ( also my lawyer ) to the For Sale web page to show him the C-22 for sale. What caught his eye was your old Capri 22. Notice the name "Hanig" on the front of the trailer. My friends name is Joel Hanig and said that boat used to be his cousins. Small world.

I spent much of my high school free time at the library reading boat magazines - you could almost call it what we now know as Disinformation.
In the early 70's there were many articles attacking the new fiberglass world. They swore that these boats would disintegrate at any time, or that the life of the craft was undeterminable. Of course no one really knew for sure but the wooden world was worried big time.
The good news is that now we have time on our side - lots of experience to help properly and accurately repair and keep up these crafts!

He did make fibreglass trees.

We have some here in VA posing as cell phone towers. I will have to admit, the "fake tree" towers do look better than a bare cell phone tower. They "kinda" blend in with their surrounding peers.BillL said:

New, it looked like a Disney California redwood and was twice as tall as anything around it. After a few years, it looked more like a Charley Brown Xmas tree.
It's gone now.

Well, this morning we had -14 degrees. For those of you in Yorba Linda, and other warm areas of our great country. -14 is COLD!
Going down to the frozen up yacht club to meet with some sailing friends.
