Hi,I'm a happy owner of Albin Vega n.2466 "Zina". The previous owner tried to tell me that she was made in 1976, but I find that unlikely. She's a series 2, apparently, so what year would a hull 2466 have been made in?
Is it possible to determine the year of manufacture based on hull number?

2505 was made in '75. The HIN is on the outside of the transom, starboard side, with characters 1/2 or 5/8 inches high, deeply embossed.. I don't think a couple of layers of paint would obliterate them.
If you are in the US your CG documentation or state title will have the VIN. I expect that to be true anywhere.

If the numbers are partially obliterated by paint you might try covering it with a piece of paper and rubbing a pencil over it.
My Vega is 2225 and she was built in 73, I was told?

Perhaps folk could post their AV number and their understood date of manufacture here and sombody could make a list. That would give us all an idea.Debonair is number 1619 and year 1973.

Minke's HIN is AMN025050175.
Hence the Vega hull number is 2505 and the hull molding date is 0175, January 1975.
