Is compass light wired into stern running light on the 270?

That is the whole question. Is Catalina 270 compass light spliced into the stern light?

Have you turned on the navigation light switch at the panel to check? Otherwise might do a functionality test of what dc circut powers the compass light.

Very common for Compass' to be aftermarket install. Either track lead from compass or flick all circuit breakers. If you think about it... the compass light most likely tied to running lights.... or instruments. On my boat it's the instrument breaker because it's an aftermarket install.

Compass is on the Edson pedestal. I believe that the boat was built this way. Will track down the wires in the morning

Solved the problem. The compass light is wired to the Running Lights by way of a hard to reach connection in the stern, starboard side. Case closed.
