Is Catalina 309 hull cored?

Is there a foam or balsa core in the (below waterline) hull of the Catalina 309 - anyone know? I wan't to install a second depth transducer and am looking at the in-hull type to feed my Garmin chart-plotter. The in hull type won't work if the hull is cored. Also suggests not to install in fiberglass hulls thicker than 5/8 inch. anyone know the thickness (in general - I do realize it will vary in different locations on the hull).

had an in-hull in my last boat and that was great to not add another hole and it was more easily kept clean.

To the best of my knowledge only the decks are cored on all Catalina, hulls are hand laid FG.
